We’d like to bid a warm welcome to our newest colleague, Head of China Desk - UK, Ke Zuo (Coco).
We are delighted to have Ke on board, who has joined us from Foxtons, and we look forward to her aiding with our expansion in the mainland China market. This is a market that is having a significant impact on our business each year, and with her, Ke brings a wealth of experience and knowledge. We sat down with Ke to talk houses and yoga, read on to find out what makes her tick.
Tell us a bit about your professional background
In May 2019, I started my career in the property industry at Foxtons as a sales negotiator in the New Homes and Investment department. A year later, together with my new Chinese colleagues, we founded the China desk, dedicated to helping Chinese buyers find suitable properties for them to either live or invest in.
What made you want to join our team?
The arts have always fascinated me, so I would love to explore interior design, the most artistic aspect of the property industry.
I am also thrilled to join a small company where employees are well cared for and have a say in important decisions.
What have you joined INVESTA to do?
I will be joining as Head of China Desk - UK, a great title with many responsibilities. Along with bringing more agents to work with us, I also hope to achieve a 20% increase in the first year alone.
Any achievements you love to shout about?
Over the last couple of years, I have built a solid reputation and have returning buyers who always specifically ask to deal with me.
In my role at Foxtons, in the first quarter of this year, I also banked £100k for my China desk team - I was certainly popular that week!
What do you enjoy most about your profession?
I really enjoy visiting various styles of properties. I listen to vendors about the story behind the flats and houses and try my best to find suitable buyers. I also enjoy sharing all the hidden spots in the neighbourhood with my buyers and colleagues.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
I love travelling and exploring the outdoors. Some of my favourite trips have been to Morocco and Vietnam.
Do you have any hidden talents we don’t know about?
Not to blow my own trumpet, but I’m a great cook of both traditional Chinese dishes and fusion food. I also love belly dancing and yoga, although at the moment, finding time is quite hard, and I recently started Chinese brush painting and calligraphy again.
If you had to use three words to describe yourself, what would they be?
I would say that I’m tenacious, hardworking and patient.
From what you have seen from Vesta & INVESTA so far, do you have a favourite project?
My favourite project so far has to be Vesta's Casson Square Showhome. I love Gemma's use of curves within the sofa, built-in shelf and headboard whilst complimenting them with tones of pink and green in the colour scheme.
See more of Vesta's Casson Square project here.
What are you most looking forward to doing at INVESTA?
Although it’s still a somewhat challenging time, I’m more excited than ever to expand the Chinese market for the business. I’m also looking forward to picking up new skills such as design and project management and, of course, fully immersing myself in the INVESTA culture.
We hope you get to meet Ke in due course, but in the meantime, we’d like to take this opportunity again to welcome her to the INVESTA family.
