To appeal to young families and city professionals buying their first homes. The interiors are to provide a vibrant and energetic retreat filled with character and charm with a luxe edge. Favoured finishes and colours include velvets, golds and glass and for the design to encompass an element of co-ordination and symmetry.
We researched the area heavily, taking inspiration from travel, Fairkytes arts centre, local schools and country parks. Each of these spoke to young families and city professionals so we used these elements when putting our design together; young families and / or city workers may visit the country parks to relax, unwind or walk their dog and the Fairkytes arts centre really spoke to the brief and how the final design needs to be filled with energy and character, so with this we knew we could get creative.
The design has a strong energy and vibrancy to it, there is a harmonious balance created with the contrast of luxe furnishings, materials and textures. The placement of the furnishings provides a satisfying symmetry, and the combination of colours create an exciting yet comforting atmosphere.
The teal and pink block colour feature in the living room immediately draws your eye to the centre of the room and you’re hit with this wonderful vibrant energy. Decorative shelving and artwork plays off this backdrop beautifully and the luxe edge is introduced through the use of the deep cherry red velvet chairs, the grey velvet ottoman and the large patterned rug.
We continued the use of this playful block colour paint feature in the dining area, creating a pleasant symmetry between the rooms. The large circular mirror creates a bold and beautiful feature, reflecting the abstract artwork.
In the second bedroom the rainbow feature paint curving over the headboard brings a youthful charm to this room. A subtle hint of bronze velvet introduces the luxurious touches and we love how the bold blue patterned cushions pop against them.
The master bedroom is a harmonious marriage of energy, colour, sophistication and luxury. Bold patterned fabrics and colours inject vibrancy, whilst the brass and velvets tie in the luxe edge.
“Our favourite room is by far the living room. The area attracts a lot of families and the living room is the perfect representation of the target demographic.”
