CASSON SQUARE RESIDENT'S LOUNGE

THE BRIEF

We were asked to create a luxury communal space for residents to relax, meet friends, work and socialise with neighbours. It had to include a casual seating area, a formal seating area and a dining space.

INSPIRATION

We created a luxurious design inspired by the local area’s iconic landmarks and varied mix of culture, heritage, outdoor space, architecture and vibrant nightlife.

THE DESIGN

Our aim was to create a design that was elegant, classic and memorable. We chose elements of our design to reflect the professionalism of the residents, whilst ensuring we added an eye-catching, artistic twist.

In the casual living area we used a sofa with ochre piping to create a relaxed and comfortable feel with a touch of luxury. This was complemented by the caramel coloured armchairs and the contrasting blue feature wall, which was inspired by the River Thames.

We placed the caramel armchair next to the side table, floor lamp and artwork to mix three different types of metal in one space, offering a bold and artistic feel.

In the more formal living space the curved green armchairs and coffee table echo the curves of the nearby London Eye. These soft curves break up the strong rectangular space of the room too. The geometric pattern of the armchairs has a vintage feel and gives a nod to the artistic heritage of the area by bringing together a modern yet nostalgic vibe.

For the dining table we used a dark wood timber with a brass inlay, which complemented perfectly with the elegant, curved back, orange dining chairs. The blue geometric screen marries the colour of the river and the nearby art galleries just right and the textured drinks cabinet adds a touch of sophistication.
