Living room with country-inspired interiors

LEVETT FIELDS

THE BRIEF

Working with housing provider, Optivo, we were asked to create a sophisticated three-bed showhome that was aspirational, yet achievable for first time buyers, couples and young families looking to move from urban built-up areas, to a picturesque countryside setting.

INSPIRATION

Our design was heavily influenced by the local area, the Sussex Downs and the nearby city of Brighton. We combined this with luxury touches to echo the atmosphere at the popular Soho Farmhouse to create a calm and comfortable family home that was affordable and attainable too.

THE DESIGN

We set out to create a design scheme that exuded bold splashes of colour, industrial chic vibes, and classic British countryside style.

Just as the countryside offers space for tranquillity, relaxation and freedom, we wanted to add that sense of escapism to the interiors. Fabric choices played a key role in this, with lots of soft velvets and neutral colours.

In bedroom 1 we used a tall, upholstered headboard with luxurious silk bedding, ornate lamps and a wall sculpture, reminiscent of a luxury boutique hotel room.

In the living area we created a practical yet cosy space with plenty of comfortable seating and soft furnishings. The green wall colour was used to reflect the trees outside and we wanted to take full advantage of the full width doors so positioned the furniture in a way that wouldn’t block any of the view or light. We also added accessories and artwork to reflect the rural area and the likes and dislikes of the potential buyer. To continue the eclectic feel of the house we added a walnut parquet dining table with industrial legs and French café style chairs.

In the children’s bedroom we created shelves from old skateboards to create an interesting feature and we used colour blocking to zone areas of the room.

"INVESTA fully embraced the development branding whilst utilising the space to present a beautiful family home. The team are great to work with, offering constructive advice, taking onboard comments from both the Sales and Marketing teams to ensure the end product sets us apart from the competition, whilst creating an environment people want to live in."
