WATERSIDE AT RIVERWELL

THE BRIEF

To create an inspirational showhome for first-time buyers that takes inspiration from the local area.

Bedroom interior design
Contemporary living room design

INSPIRATION

As this development was close to the River Colne and Oxhey Park we wanted to create a design scheme that had a fresh, earthy, and organic feel to it, while also being contemporary enough for a young market.

THE DESIGN

Our design for Waterside at Riverwell needed to be clean, modern and have character. We wanted the property to have lots of personality but not feel overwhelming.

To do this we began in the hallway by painting the ceiling to create a focal point. By drawing the eye up, it ensures the space doesn’t feel too small or crowded. We added a large circular mirror in the hallway to add light and space, and this use of curves is repeated throughout the showhome. To make the space functional we added oak shelving and coat hooks.

In the living area we used earthy tones such as reds and greens, and textures such as the walnut furniture, the rug, and the woven fabrics to give the space a clean and sophisticated feel, while also echoing the local area and outdoors. The wallpaper adds a touch of elegance and fun to the overall look.

These colours, textures and materials were continued into the bedroom through the panelling, paint work and textiles. The headboard fabric mirrors the impact of the living room wallpaper by creating subtle impact in the room. Although the fabric is light in colour the pattern contrasts with the panelling behind to create the ideal focal point. The simple accents of the side lamps and tables complement the space perfectly.
