THE BRIEF
The aim was to create a home that felt relevant to a young, design-conscious audience, combining style with the practicalities of everyday life. The scheme needed to make the most of the apartment, using clever storage, hardwearing pieces and flexible furniture without compromising on a sense of quality or personality.
INSPIRATION
The story begins with Barking itself, looking to the area’s architecture, history and changing identity for inspiration. The Suffragette movement, reflected in the name of the local Overground line, informed a distinctive colour palette, bringing a stronger sense of character to the interiors.
Clean forms and subtle industrial references sit alongside expressive artwork, considered accessories and high-quality finishes. The result is a confident, contemporary apartment that celebrates its East London surroundings while feeling fresh, individual and easy to live in.
